GATHERING COMMUNITY
SPECIAL WOMEN'S GATHERINGS
This last year we purchased the old church adjacent to The Princess & the Sea here in Nova Scotia. It was once a church of the Nazarene, where many locals were married and attended Sunday School. For many years now, this building stood silent and was unattended except for some lovely raccoons enjoying its warmth and insulation.Since our purchase the building was completely gutted, disinfected professionally and renovated. We are now ready to welcome new energy and creativity to this lovely site directly on the Bay. We would like to dedicate one of our rental weeks available and designate it as a week-long adventure & creativity retreat for women.
For women interested in songwriting and vocals I will lead informal classes, as well as offer private access to a multitude of musical instruments including drums. For women interested in creative writing we have a very special guest locally who would love to spend an afternoon leading a creative workshop as well.ENDLESS POSSIBILITIESIn addition to musical inspiration this location boasts of freedom, grounding energy & beauty, wildlife, coastal shores, fauna and stargazing (including the Milky Way of course) while witnessing the power of the tides inspiring any creative outlet, or sitting quietly on the wrap around porch. We'll be painting our treasures from the beach, maybe playing a little badminton or volleyball (or cheerleading), going out on wine tours (optional) and exploring the beautiful historical sites of Annapolis Royal (Canada's birthplace) and visiting Lunenburg and Peggy’s Cove.LODGINGThe Princess & the Sea is an 1800’s house on a bluff situated on the Bay of Fundy in Port Lorne, a community in the Canadian province of Nova Scotia, located in Annapolis County. The retreat lodging space has 6 bedrooms with queen size beds (one is a double) Pat and I stay in a little carriage house (The Mermaid Quarters) next to the The Princess. Here is the website so you can see the available rooms.http://www.theprincessandthesea.com/the-guest-rooms/What we are hoping is to offer a week long retreat beginning August 3-10th this year. Though the focus is on creativity, it is also a wonderful opportunity to gather as a group of women, where we can share meals, take day trips, spend time together, time alone and, hopefully, create something within, or to be shared. The week will begin with a pajama party sitting around the fireplace listening to women’s music and more. (my guitar is by the fireplace) For more information, please write to: roadstarlucie@gmail.com
