SPECIAL WOMEN'S GATHERINGS
We both fell in love with the Princess in 2019. Later, we acquired the old church adjacent to the Guest House in Nova Scotia. It was the center for many community members married and attended Sunday School. As the years passed, the old church was boarded up and unattended except for some lucky racoon families. With the serious help of professionals and generous amounts of sage, this sweet building is ready to welcome you all.
Completely renovated on the main floor, she is ready for some movie nights, music and chatting by the fireplace. We are now ready to welcome new energy and creativity to this lovely site directly on the Bay. We would like to dedicate multiple weeks during summer rentals and designate these times as week-long adventure & creativity retreats for women.
We'll be decorating our treasures from the beach, maybe playing a little badminton or volleyball (or cheerleading), going out on wine tours (optional) and exploring the beautiful historical sites of Annapolis Royal (Canada's birthplace) and visiting Lunenburg and Peggy’s Cove. You can plan on some porch nights with drums and guitars as well. This location boasts of freedom, grounding energy, beauty, wildlife, coastal shores, fauna and stargazing (including the Milky Way of course) while witnessing the power of the tides inspiring any creative outlet, or sitting quietly on the wrap around porch.
We have dedicated a week in July 2026 for Women First Responders and hope this will be a welcome gathering in 2026. This week is a special "Thank You" for all first responders active and retired.
All of our Women's Gatherings are about finding our peeps, connecting, playing, laughing and enjoying each other's company in a beautiful environment all while making sure to be there in time for special sunsets. These magical spaces are few and far between. Please join us.
LODGINGThe Princess & the Sea is an 1800’s house on a bluff situated on the Bay of Fundy in Port Lorne, a community in the Canadian province of Nova Scotia, located in Annapolis County. The retreat lodging space has 6 bedrooms with queen size beds (one is a double) Pat and I stay in a little carriage house (The Mermaid Quarters) next to the The Princess. Here is the website so you can see the available rooms.http://www.theprincessandthesea.comWhat we are hoping is to offer week long retreats which focus on kindness, care and support. It is a great and safe place to be ourselves, share meals, take day trips, spend time together and alone and, hopefully, create something within, or to be shared. The weeks may end with a lobster cookout followed by a pajama party (depending on the season) sitting around the fireplace. There's always a guitar is by the fireplace.
